We designed, fabricated, painted and installed 2 lift shaft support structures, 2 steel stairs and a structural steel footbridge. The DDA compliant footbridge was 26m long and weighed 14 tonnes. The side of the bridge was fabricated using steel plate with a glass infill above 1200mm. The structure was fully fabricated, painted to N1 Protective spec and had non-slip flooring applied in our workshops. A full trial erection was then carried out in-house in our ‘Trial Erection Bay’ - this ensures that once on-site no unforeseen problems will arise during installation and ‘track possession’ times are kept to an absolute minimum. The complete structure was installed using a 300 tonne crane over 2 Saturday night ‘possessions’.
